Using Push Notifications is a best alternative for cutting down the usage of SMS. However, the Push Notification service only work when members have the following settings enabled on their mobile phones.
Notifications must enabled for the Member App in their mobile notification settings.
Push Notification must be ON in the Members app Settings.
Member's mobile must be connected to a working internet connection.

How to enable Notifications for Member's App in your Mobile notification settings?
Go to Settings > Notifications > Scroll down and Select the Members App > Notifications and the Background App Refresh must be ON as shown in the screenshot below.
How to turn on Push Notifications in Members app?
Login to the Members App > Click on the Options icon on the Top Left Corner > Settings > Notifications > Turn on the Push Notifications and SMS as shown in the screenshot below and Click Done to save the changes.

How to Enable Notifications for Members App in Mobile settings?
Go to Settings > More > Application Manager > Under Downloaded Apps select Members App > Tick the check box to Show Notifications as shown in the screenshot below.
How to Enable Push notifications in the Members App ?
Login to the Members App > Click on the Options icon on the top left corner > Settings > Notifications > Enable the Push Notifications as shown in the screenshot below and Click on Done to Save it.
